does chewing sugar free gum make you lose weight?

My brother recently told me that chewing 17 pieces
of sugar free gum, with Xytiol, which is an FDA approved sugar
substitue?, will make me lose weight,. But he said that it
makes you sh!t like crazy. Soo I was wondering if any of this was correct?

Xylitol is fine for you and 17 peices a day would be pretty expensive so why not just buy xylitol from the health food store to sweeten anything… start off in small doses so you dont get the runs.
